Back like we never left.
Recently had the chance to get with Miami’s own Art Morera who dropped his Around Midnight project at the top of 2014 and is still getting a pretty decent response from it. Tracks like the groove-driven ‘Miami Vice,’ appeal to hip-hop heads beyond the palm trees and sandy beaches of the 305 and Art is gearing up to ensure that you know a little more of his story before 2015 hits. Ra’s In the Ring Though…
Five days before Ra Ra‘s High End Low Life is slated to drop, MFD presents the second part to our #FreshVision series with the Decatur emcee. Continue reading
I don’t remember the first time I met Ra Ra f/k/a Young Capone with the So So Def deal way back when… Doesn’t even matter. When he dropped that tape with Maurice Garland serving as host last year, I was all in. Continue reading
To cap off the first round of the #FreshVision series, we sat with Trouble (or as he playfully chided me here, ‘It’s Trouble Trouble…’ LOL) at Patchwerk Studios in Midtown Atlanta. Continue reading
Recently MadFreshDaily sat down with K Camp and the Atlanta rapper gave us a little bit of his story on the music side but after, the Northside representative also shared that basketball was another one of his passions. Continue reading
If you’ve been paying attention to anything coming out of the A in the last six months or so, you had to have noticed K Camp and his monster hit ‘Money Baby.’ The 23-year-old, hailing from the northside of the city has been encouraging random twerk-offs with the peppy track produced by Big Fruit and featuring fellow newcomer Kwony Cash.
Recently, we had a chance to sit with Camp for a few at Akon’s Music Box Studios in midtown Atlanta and kick it about the industry — everything from catering to what the college girls like to having quite a few chances at bat. But hey, this guy’s only 23, if he’s already got a couple hits in his repertoire, what’s to say he won’t be around for a lil’ minute…
Personally, I love the ‘Cut Her Off’ joint, produced by Will A Fool. LOL. I don’t know that the lyrics should be as hilarious as they are to me. Guaranteed to make the club jump though, regardless.
K Camp’s newest project ‘In Due Time,’ hosted by the incomparable DJ Drama, is slated to drop tomorrow, Dec. 2, but for now check the interview.
We finally got that Part 2 for you guys to partake in! Continue reading
Just a couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting singer/songwriter/producer/engineer (whew!) J. Rob at his home studio.
Giggle at the title and hook of “Jose Got Dem Tacos” all you want but the young boy, Kap G — straight outta College Park — is about to be chuckling to the bank, stacking straight show money on that unsuspecting ass… LOL.
As I told him here, I love the fact that the first time I heard the track was at one of Mixtape Atlas‘s parties with the homie Jah at The Basement in East Atlanta. I just happened to walk in while the crowd was going nuts to “Jose.”
I was jolted into the then-present — this tall, honey blonde-streaked Mexican-American kid, just barely into legal adulthood, had the crowd jumping. And those youngins are known to be kinda hard to impress. I mean, the energy was absolutely electric. Quite a feat, indeed.
He’s only been rapping for a couple years now but there’s an appeal there. I saw something that night.
Anyway, so you know I had to get at him from the starting position, right? Yup. So here it is:
A few weeks back, me and my man Russ shot up to the north side of Atlanta to partake in some good old-fashioned studio time with Reidsville own Young Dirt. There was a little talk about his latest project, Welcome to Reidsville, and a helluva lot of freestyling. We posted one rhyme stream and here’s another, He stole my heart with his bars. LOL. So, so dope. Check it.
