On one of the prettiest days of autumn in the A, the MFITS team heads to the center of the city to bring you three new ones from Centennial Park. On this episode, we present Joyner Lucas, Young Greatness and Yung N Restless — the sole GA representer this time around. Peep it, share it and enjoy.
Yep. It’s been a lil’ minute but we wanted to make sure we got the new episode of Mad Fresh In These Streets right for you guys. Myself and my co-producer, Marcus Williams, set up shop on the bridge by Philips Arena in downtown Atlanta, right across from the Mercedes Benz Dome in progress, just to give you a little A-Town visual as you get into these clips.
This time around we’re giving you the most recent joints from Ron Beatty, Sy Ari Da Kid and DJ Scream‘s star-studded visual. Take a look.
Back in June, Ye fell for Mechanicsville MC Chilly Chills, sorta on the fly. The G.O.O.D. Music CEO just happened to hear a track from the Atlanta native while he was in town for Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash and he was hooked. My first time hearing Chilly live yielded the same reaction. Shy Glizzy and Ralo dropped a joint called ‘Realest Out’ and with over 16, 000 plays on Audiomack, they’re sending a message to the streets. This track is where raw and chill meet.
We all need one of these songs to cruise and kick back to with the squad. Presented by Famerica and Glizzy Gang, this track was produced by Cardo Got Wings. Let these two tell it, we all have to start paying attention: “Don’t ask ya’ momma, we the realest n—– out…”
Check ‘Realest Out’ and let us know what you think.
A few weeks ago, MFD fave Translee dropped this ‘Lost in the Sauce’ track produced by Tha Officialz and it’s fitting that we’re running it over here on a Sunday. The song just feels like church and Translee is preaching for close to 3:30 minutes. Not your AME pulpit type of preaching either. Think 125th and Lenox street corner call to worship. He touches on his feelings about the Confederate flag amongst other things. Continue reading
“Hands down, Tez McClain is the people’s speaker…”
Over some ominous production — presumably courtesy of LT-Moe — Tez McClain is back again with “GimmeMine” from the Dopamine Sessions. Here, the Atlanta MC is sounding like he’s ready after having taken a break for a few years. Time for McClain to take what’s his and this sharp set of bars ought to put him back in the game with ease.
There’s nothing like a dope collaboration. After the recent drop on Pigeons and Planes of “So Slow” featuring King Chip, Anderson .Paak & Blended Babies shared their The Anderson .Paak EP a couple months ago. Continue reading
