First off, let me say this: the cinematography here is pretty much impeccable. Next, Massachusetts native Ariez Onasis has one helluva flow. Now, with all that being addressed, ‘Justified’ is all about the bad chicks he hooks — ‘bad’ meaning ‘good’ of course. I know nothing of all that, but all my homeboys seem to like the idea of putting these ‘romantic’ conquests on wax. So here you are… I suspect the guys ought to like the imagery here as well. Ha!
Well, this is cute. Atlanta native Vedo has dropped something just weeks before Valentine’s Day for you guys who want the girl but can’t quite put your feelings into words. Continue reading
Plotting out the year is one thing, making the initial moves to make things happen is a whole other. Before 2014 was out, I started researching the necessary tools. Turns out, all you need is a few quality winter accessories while running around, a couple good gadgets and a fragrance that helps in making your presence a memorable one. Here’s a list of what I’ve been rocking with since the ball dropped. Festival season is coming soon so get your business straight while it’s still frigid out.
Welcome Larry June to MFD for the first time. We’ve been rocking with Iamsu for a bit, but this particular song here has an unexpected feel. Not bad, but unexpected. Continue reading
Once again, we bring Twon Don back to MFD featuring his newest offering. This ‘Gift & A Curse’ joint has a haunting feel to its production as the Jersey native compares his gift of rap gab to visual artists like Basquiat, Warhol and Picasso. We’re guessing his gift is s a curse for all other cats competing with the young emcee. Give it a listen.
Street Execs’ Cap 1 is forever dropping something. Most recently, his six-song Bird Bath EP is doing numbers over at iTunes. Of course the title track has been knocking for a few months now, but there are some new joints on there that kinda anchor ‘Bird Bath.’
‘Can You See Me,’ for instance, has Cap in a much more vulnerable light than any bounce-worthy, trap instructional guide he’s known for merking. Continue reading
Yo. I was rocking with Tope already. If you keep up with MFD, you already know… But this newest offering from the Portland rapper ought to have all the ’80s babies bobbing heads. LOL. Seriously, who’s ever touched the theme song from Who’s the Boss? Tope does it here, so effortlessly. Flipping such a wholesome network TV ditty into a free-flowing rap track instantly had us like, ‘Oh sh*t!’ So it’s aptly named I suppose.
Stewart Villain is behind the boards and FILTHIEST is behind the lens on this one. This is cool. Also, press ‘play’ on his BROKEBOYSYNDROME album.
Aiight. So I’ve been talking Sy Ari Da Kid since I was introduced to his music a few years ago. If there was a Rappin’ Ass Mixtape King title here in Atlanta, Sy would probably scoop that one. Dropping tapes is nothing for this Slumlord. Continue reading
2015 is off to a great start but to make it even better, we have a brand new episode of Mad Fresh in These Streets for your viewing pleasure. Before judging the monthly Bar Exam competition at the world-renowned Apache Cafe in midtown Atlanta, I wanted to share three videos that MFD’s been rocking with as of late. Continue reading
Been waiting patiently on Ra Ra to g’head and drop the first single from his Project Runway album that’s yet to come. And today he’s dropped off ‘Lawd’ for our listening pleasure. Here’s a little background first: Continue reading
