Fresh Music | Bettie Grind feat. Sequence Clark ‘Groove’

'Bettie' or 'Bet He' Grind... Get It?

‘Bettie’ or ‘Bet He’ Grind… Get It?

Usually, I’m not at all with the altering of classic favorites, but this new joint from Bettie Grind might be my newest exception. ‘Groove’ samples The System’s 1987 hit ‘Don’t Disturb This Groove’ and though it may be just a little raunchy, essentially it’s the same thing the pop group was alluding to, right?

‘Hang a sign up on the door/That says ‘Don’t Disturb This Groove”…” Whaddaya think they were trying to do behind the door? Hmm?

Hailing from Charlotte, NC — which, incidentally is growing daily, literally — Bettie Grind is pushing for acknowledgement beyond his city by the time his second solo LP titled This Real Life drops. Drumma Boy’s co-sign is definitely a plus. Ol’ boy doesn’t just tag anyone.

Clearly ‘Groove’ is a track for the ladies — with singer/songwriter Sequence Clark coming through with the assist — but Grind’s got some other options in the chamber that deserve a listen as well. Press ‘play’ here for now and remember who told you…
