I don’t remember the first time I met Ra Ra f/k/a Young Capone with the So So Def deal way back when… Doesn’t even matter. When he dropped that tape with Maurice Garland serving as host last year, I was all in.
There are quite a few joints on Higher. Some liver than others but the introspective ones are still some of my favorites. Like, ‘stay in my phone’ favorites.
The thing is, a lot of people out here in Atlanta that move on the underbelly side of hip-hop know Ra to be the city’s next T.I. Heavy is the head, right? I don’t think Ra puts that weight on himself though. Hell, I don’t believe he cares what people think really. You see he took a year to drop his next tape, High End Low Life or #HELL — a flippin’ year. Rappers barely do that anymore. *shrug*
Anyway, me and my man Russ got with the Decatur native a few months ago while #HELL was still in its baby stage. Come be a fly on the wall.
